November 11th, 2004OopsIt seems the wrong HUD script was included for the build 13 release.  The files have been fixed now, but if you already downloaded build13 and see a grey box on your HUD, download this file to your paintball2\pball\scripts directory.  If you still have problems, please let us know!
November 10th, 2004Paintball 2.0 Build 13 ReleasedThis update is mostly to fix the serverlist issue.  The serverlist code has been almost completely revamped and supports vhosts, redirecting, multiple sources, etc. so we shouldn't have to worry about this problem ever happening again. :)  Also, it's multi-threaded, meaning no more "freezing" and more accurate ping results.  The state of the serverlist is also saved to disk on exit, so the next time you play, you won't have to hit refresh just to make the servers visible.

Other changes include attempted workarounds for ATi's broken drivers, and some misc. bugfixes that sometimes lead to crashing.  Also, there's a pretty, new 32bit icon for Windows XP users.

You can grab it on the files page, or here:
Update to build 13
Build 13 full install

Be sure to post feedback on the forum.
November 8th, 2004The Status of Build 13Build 13, which resolves the serverlist issue, is almost done, however there are some stability problems (it crashes a lot) which still need to be worked out.  Once those get fixed, it will be released.  Shouldn't be much longer now.
November 4th, 2004Serverlist Not Working?IGN/GameSpy has done some rearranging, it seems.  Planetquake.com is now on a vhost, meaning the old method used to retrieve the serverlist no longer works.  I'm in the process of fixing it for build 13.  In the meantime, you can go to /servers.txt and save that as paintball2\pball\servers.txt, then load up paintball2 and hit "refresh" (not "update").
October 29th, 2004ATi Framerate FixAs I'm sure many of you have noticed, Paintball2 has run very poorly on the past few Catalyst driver releases.  I have finally discovered where the problem lies in their drivers, and fortunately there's a workaround.  Bring down the console (hit ~) and type the following:

seta gl_ext_pointparameters 0
vid_restart

You should notice a 5-10x speed improvement, especially when smoke grenades are present.
