December 21st, 1998DP included in Hydra-SBMadMx emailed me to let me know that Digital Paint servers have been incoporated into the install files of the new server browser Hydra-SB. The Hydra crew has also created a DP so that you can find more servers. Thanx to the guys at Red Mountain Software for including Digital Paint. New MenuWell, the Quake2 menu looked pretty bad in the paintball palette, and didn't fit in well with the pb2 theme at all, so now that I have a little free time, I made one that looks much nicer :) I'll prolly post it as POTD, Page UpdatesThis morning I redid the navigation bar to the right of the page. The new one is easier to read and allows for more links, and is much easier to modify when necessary. I also updated the links section of the page. We link to any site that carries Digital Paint news or is in any other way related to this modification. If your site should be added to the list please drop me an email. Yesterday I also updated the server list, and compacted it so it can be viewed easier. The new layout does not provide as much information but is a quicker link to the DP servers. December 19th, 1998PBQCC Goes DP!The Paintball Quake Congress has released the first set of Digital Paint Rankings and Digital Paint Ladder on the page. The rankings are formulated by the El Nino formula, and the ladder is just your basic clan ladder whereby clans "climb up" the ladder with wins. Portage!Digital Paint Beta 4.5 server files are now available for Solaris Sparc. Go download it! Digital Paint Map Making Kit for QooleI finally got around to releasing my map making kit for Qoole. The kit includes palette and entity files. This kit will allow you to view the textures properly from within Qoole and give you access to all DP entities from the Qoole entity menus. Make sure you read the ReadMe.txt before using. Now get to mapping! Digital Paint Map Making ToolsI added a new section for DP map making tools to the Files Page. Check there for usefull files for making DP maps! December 16th, 1998Map ConverterI never remembered to release it and it needed some minor tweaking, but here is a program i wrote back on the 4th day of developing beta1 of DP. Just run it with the path of the quake1 paintball .map file as a parameter, and it will create a new version of your map which should be almost totally converted for DP, as oldmap_q2.map. Undoubtedly your map will have a few unconverted textures, as the DP texture list is not as versitile as quake1's. Simply add any custom textures you have with the q1 and q2 names into the textures.dat file and rerun the program to fix those textures. Anyways, it takes a LOT of the work of conversion away from you, just minor touchups. =) Get it here --->>> MapConvert.zip 3rd Party Map Pack!!After many requests from the paintball community, I put together the Digital Paint 3rd Party Map Pack #1. This map pack contains ten 3rd Party Maps including: TheFields, DropZone, Thunder, SandTrap, The House of Paint, Ravine, Painted Forest, Warehouse Speedball, Twin Towers, and 2 Ways. All readme.txt's, textures, sounds, and other files from the original map distributions are included.
