December 27th, 1998Whippin' Out ModelsWelp, I'm trying my hardest to get all these models done. I just finished the VM-68 today, and the spyder v_model a couple days ago. I hope to get all these done plus maybe a couple more maps for beta5 which we will be releasing in a couple weeks at DPCON (C'mon, you KNOW you want to go! :) So nice to have a break from school. I can actually get stuff done! December 25th, 1998Vote for Digital Paint!Two sites are holding votes for the best of 1998. The first is the previously mentioned Quake Womens Forum who have now added Digital Paint to the ballot for Best Quake II CTF Mod. You can vote for Digital Paint, and Jitspoe as Graphic artist of the year here. The other site is Sluggo's Mod Central. Digital Paint has been nominated there for Best Teamplay Mod. Sluggo reviewed Digital Paint and Ultimate Paintball earlier this year and actually liked UP better. He said that DP's best map was Castle. December 23rd, 1998Ksplat2b Released!When Quake 1 Paintball beta 2 came out it included this little map called Ksplat2. This map was definitely a player favorite but it was decided that it was too small for most the games that were played on it and it was revised for Paintball 1.0 final, to the form that you know it today Ksplat2. However Jitspoe recently gave the original .map file to Fryth who has converted this Pball 1 Beta 3 favorite to Digital Paint. You can download it here. December 22nd, 1998BSP Files For Map MakersI've had these for quite some time, but I just now got around to putting them in a more "user-friendly" format to install. Now you only have to edit a couple files if your directories are different. Enjoy, and make some cool maps! :) New 3rd Pary MapCrash has put together a map called N-ZONE. It's got a pretty cool layout and looks like it will play pretty well, tho I haven't played on it with anyone yet... Good job Crash. Plan ItIts been a long time since i took a stab at it, but im back at work poking around at the .plan admin functions. I got the function to allow me to make directories now, and so im working on allowing myself to make groups for sites dynamicly and very quickly. Anyways, the .plan system is setup for DP members only at this time, but soon will be handed over for use by all of captured.com. As of now, you can check out the .plans of DP members on the button on the navbar. The .plan system will provide for members of different groups to quickly and easily make updates of any type.
The DP plans will mainly be for talking to the community, and wont be as much places for official news, more like ideas and whatnot, a way to talk to the people other than the bboard. =) Anyways, thats that (and i got my sig made)
